Dating again when your middle aged can be a scary experience with the scare level dependent on when you dated last. The dating world is a strange unfamiliar place and even though you want to meet someone new, you just don't know how to navigate this new area effectively. So how do you start dating again when you are middle aged?
1. What do you want? Before you start dating ask yourself what it is that you want. What kind of partner do you want? What age, height, values, faith etc should they have? If you know what you want then you are more likely to find it. If you don't know what you want then you will take anyone and therefore you will waste time and energy.
2. Co-opt family and friends. Seriously... this can work for you. I know it sounds a little timid but you want to wet your feet in the dating pool in a safe place. So casually let them know that you want to start dating again and see what happens. Don't put the pressure on them but let this be one of your potential dating avenues. And then make sure you turn out for their invites so that you can see what is available in their circle of friends. You would be surprised at the variety of people the friends of your friends or family know!
3. Go online. Again this will help you ease into the dating scene. There are dating sites catering to every taste; partners of different ages, from different parts of the world, of any age and persuasion, of a specific faith etc. Whatever it is that you are looking for you can narrow your search fairly well. This will give you an idea of what is available to you and you can try different sites to see which suit your needs best.
4. Go where they are. Since you know where the kind of partner you want can be found then go to there. If you are a little apprehensive go with a friend the first time so they can help you ease into the dating scene.
5. Open your eyes. As you go about your normal daily routine do so with your eyes 'open' in the sense of looking out for potential partners. Be open and friendly to people as you never know where a partner may be lurking just waiting for you.
Starting to date again when you are middle aged can be intimidating but if you follow these 5 helps you will find it less so. Be yourself and enjoy the experience.

Dating is not only fun but can also be beneficial to one's emotional, physical and mental health. This is due to our most basic need of companionship.
When we live in isolation we are not living to our full potential. Our emotional health has a direct relationship on the quality of our relationships. We are placed on this earth to be a companion to someone. The scriptures are very clear about this. In Genesis 2:24 a man shall leave his mother and father and cleave to his wife. God created us to be of one flesh and to have that companionship not for a season but for a lifetime. Sometimes things do not work out the way we want and we are left alone in a very scary world. There is no need to fear. You can ax the fear with just one click.
On-Line dating services have become one of the number one way to meet people who are looking for the same thing that you are looking for. The benefits of on-line dating are many. You have the benefit meeting a multitude of people from the privacy and security of your home. Whatever your goals that you have for your personal relationships, online dating is the best way to meet and more importantly screen potential mates or friends. Why not narrow you search and see what other have to offer. When you start your search for that someone special begin with the end in mind. This is to say that you need to define to yourself what you want. Not only do you need to know what you want you will also need to define what you are able to give to this relationship.
The relationship will not only affect you, but all who love and care for you. If you are older and have adult children and grand children their needs and feeling must be taken into consideration. If you are just thinking about dating again you may want speak to your children about your choice. This may help when it comes to introducing that someone special to them. Remember you are the one that can be a person of growth and prosperity or you can choose to be alone and never live up to your full potential. That special person will not only compliment you, but will drive you to greater heights than you could accomplish by yourself. But you must take the first step into greatness. So, what are you waiting for? Get out there and make some history.

Many younger women are dating older guys for very good reasons. Older guys have throughout the ages represented maturity, stability and experience that younger men simply cannot match. There are challenges when it comes to mixed age dating.
Younger women who want to date mature men are not just looking for a daddy figure or a sugar-daddy as some would immediately jump to. Instead these women are genuinely interested in living a better life and want the experienced hand of someone who has "been there, done that" without all the time involved in the hard lessons that life can sometimes throw at you.
Think about it. If you could gain experience second hand that drove your dreams through to completion years before you could have on your own, would you take that opportunity? You'd be foolish if you said no. And many younger women see this advantage as a real possibility in dating older guys.
Experience does not just come with common tasks or dreams either. Often older lovers prove best because they take their time to gain a level of intimacy that is rarely found in youthful quick intercourse. What is better a long session that involves hitting all the emotional highs methodically and thoroughly or a quick heated 5 minute romp? Many younger women, and most 30 somethings would agree, would choose the former rather than the latter.
What about stability? Many young men are unstable in all their ways. They cannot hold onto cash, they cannot contain their emotions in the midst of stressful environments, they cannot provide the level if luxury that many older men can afford to provide.
The vast majority of women are about safety and security when it comes to relationships. If a woman feels safe and secure then sex is much more likely to happen because a woman will not have sex with you if she feels unsafe. It is a biological response that is hardwired into their brain. And it makes a lot of sense too.
Sure there are women who are thrill seekers, but I would gamble heavily that the majority would not do it if they had everything to lose. They would only do it if they knew that there was a safety net under them. Rarely do people do dangerous things without some means of safety available. That too is biological.
In this case women who are seeking adventure can also get that adventure with older men who are in shape. Skydiving, scuba diving, sailing, balloon rides, exotic travel, safari, basically anything that will take money and knowledge are available to a younger woman who want to date older men. Young men who are not wealthy and well educated simply are out of their league when the reality of what is available to men of means and experience.
Older men who stay in shape have the best chances to make all those young women seek them out. Staying limber and in great shape will improve the chances of your success! The simple fact is that it does not matter if you are 20 or 60, if you have a ton of restrictions in your your body they are broadcast to every young woman in sight. You can have all the money in the world, dress nice and have a driver in a fancy car and while this will get you attention it will not get you the kind of woman that is naturally attracted to you for more than the safety that money brings.

If you're over the age of 50 and consider yourself shy, the dating world is probably very intimidating. It's possible you haven't been in the dating game for a long time either, so getting back on the horse is always difficult at first. Hey, this is why we're here today. We want to help it be as easy as possible to overcome. Here are a few tips that will have you getting dates left and right without even working hard for them.
Be Open Minded
In the past you probably had a certain type of woman that you felt was best for you. This could include a certain hair color, the right age group, what she enjoys doing, and even how well she looked or dressed. When you reach your fifties some of this criteria can be thrown out the window. After all, you're not trying to find the hottest woman out there; you're trying to find a companion that you can enjoy time with whenever you get together.
So it's possible that the perfect woman for you now is not the same choice as someone you were looking for in your 20s or 30s. The more open minded you are about the choices, the easier it will be to find a date for the evening.
Build Natural Conversation
We know you're probably going to have to work on this a bit, because shy guys have the hardest time having natural conversations. There always seems to be uncomfortable pauses in between the conversation for a shy guy over 50. In order to change this you have to be prepared before you talk with a woman. However, you can't make it sound like you're reading off a checklist. Let everything flow as naturally as possible and she enjoys the time spent with you.
Pick a Secluded Location
One of the biggest mistakes any man makes when picking a location for a date is heading out to the bars. Sure you might have dinner first, but going to a bar is only providing her with a lot more temptation. These are prime spots for single men to be sitting around, so if you want the focus on you then take her somewhere secluded. It doesn't have to be romantic, but just somewhere that isn't surrounded by tons of people.
This will give you a chance to really get to know one another.
Let Her know you're a bit Shy
Well, don't walk up to her and say; "Hi, I'm a bit shy." What we mean by this is just try not to come off as shy during your initial encounter. However, if you get more dates with her, eventually you can let her know how shy you really are around women. By this time, it won't be a big deal, but if you tell her on the first date, she might "shy" away (pun intended).
In the end, if you try all these tips and for some reason they don't work, it's time to take a different route. Consider online dating sites if you can't seem to get over that shy feeling. They allow you to setup a profile so women can see you. This means less work for you, and they will already be interested before you even meet. This will definitely take away from the intimidation factor.

Okay, you found a speed dating event is going to be held for single men over 50. These can be either very exciting or a complete nightmare depending on the person. However, it's a great way to meet other people, even if you don't wind up finding any dates. Then again, if you take our advice today you can improve your chances of finding someone special:
#1 You are who you are
When it comes to speed dating events, you only have a few minutes to provide that first impression. There is no need to offer up false information if you want to find a date. After all, if she's not going to accept you for who you are, there is no sense in taking it any further. Eventually you will come across someone that has similar interests or enjoys you as a person.
#2 Getting Prepared
One thing most men overlook about speed dating events is that you have to be prepared before you go. The next time you head to one, watch all the other guys checking the ladies out. They are really just looking at the sexual side of the event instead of focusing on getting a date. Your job is to figure out what you want in a woman before you go. However, the questions you come up with should be fun and entertaining.
#3 Try Online Speed Dating
Yes, there are actually speed dating sites that are very similar to what you would see in person. Basically, you sign up for a site and everything is done through live chat. Granted, you have to setup a profile picture and a few other things, but they are extremely helpful for single men over 50. It allows you to sit behind your computer and feel more confident about the situation.
A lot of men who have been out of the dating seen for an extended period of time don't know how to act in front of a woman. Well, if you fall into this category, you can utilize a speed dating site to hide behind a computer first. This can make the introduction process a little easier. Plus it allows you to get to know someone before you decide to go out on a date.
Just a Recap
These three tips alone can make a monumental difference in the amount of success you have with speed dating. Get a better understanding of what you're looking for in a woman before you even decide to head out for a speed dating event. If you feel uncomfortable sitting in front of 15 to 20 women, opt for an online speed dating site.
Most men over 50 have always struggled with the dating scene. A lot of the issues are self-inflicted. Maybe you think you're too old or don't have enough to offer. Those who think this way will end up failing miserably. So instead of focusing on the negatives, it's time to get out there and make a positive interaction with women. There are so many out there who would love to meet you, but if you're afraid to do it, nothing will ever transpire. The first step is always the hardest, but also the easiest once you do it.

Men who are dating well into their 50s have to have a different approach. You're a well-seasoned individual and finding someone with similar interests will get harder and harder. If age doesn't matter to you, it's just a matter of finding someone who likes older men. There are plenty of ladies out there who love a man who is experienced, secure in his life, and is looking for a mate.
Here are a few tips to help you find her today:
#1 Online Dating Sites
One of the easiest ways to find any woman is signing up for an online dating site. Think of it as if you're shopping for a new car or house. Those who do their research and know what they want can find everything they need in a woman. Online dating sites allow you to setup your own profile and have women come to you as well. However you decide to utilize them is up to you, but we know it's one of the best ways for a guy in his 50's to find a date.
#2 Don't be the Sugar Daddy
This definitely sounds like a cliche, but a lot of older men have a tendency to show their affection by purchasing everything under the sun for a woman. If you take this path, you will wind up alone and have less money. There are plenty of women out there who would be interested in how you are as a person instead of how much you can spend on them.
#3 Interact
The person who interacts is the one who enjoys most of the benefits. This is especially true when it comes to dating women. If you're willing to get out there and be social, it's going to help you meet women. This can be done at local events, restaurants, online, or anywhere out there. The goal is to simply "get out there" and make it happen. Sure, you might end up getting some "no" responses along the way, but you're not going to know until you try.
Heck, you could even end up meeting someone who introduces you to your next date. You just never know.
#4 Try New Things
One of the biggest problems men in their 50s must deal with is trying new things. Most likely, you're set in your ways, but it's possible that this is the main issue in your dating life. You have to be willing to try approaches you're not normally accustomed to doing. The dating world is a lot different than when you were in your twenties. Catch up with the times and it could make a huge difference.
These four tips are pretty basic when it comes to dating. We highly recommend online dating sites, because they provide you with more opportunities. Your local region has several women around your age group, and a lot of them are trying to find dates as well. Once you learn how to use the filter on these dating sites, you will be able to see all the options in front of you.

Where do seniors meet seniors?
It is a fact that more people meet online these days than at social events or even at work and this is especially true of seniors. A surprising percentage of boomers are looking for a new relationship and find it online. I can vouch for that, it is where my wife and I met six and a half years ago now and it has been the a great move for us.
Seniors Meet Seniors Online Success Story.
I had been out of a 39 year marriage and had four children Gemma had divorced 16 years before and had two children. Of course all the 'kids' were grown up and had relationships and families of their own. Two singles, free to find new loves and new adventures. I was 60 and had 'run home to mom!'. It was one of my daughters who suggested that if I sat watching the TV night after night I would soon be old before my time.
Doing Nothing Was Tempting
After 40 years of 'homemaking' sitting still and letting the world go by was very tempting but you know it is predicted that our generation will live long lives, maybe to 100 and 40 years of being a couch potato seems more like a prison sentence than an ambition so I subscribed to a dating site.
Write an Honest Profile
Considering I had never done anything like this before I made a good decision, I had an 'allowance' of 1000 characters to write my profile, I would use every one of them and write a full and honest profile. I laid it all out, who I am, my age, how I got to be where I am today, what I like, what I dislike, what I do for fun, what I am looking for in a relationship all open all honest.
Look for an Honest Profile
How can you know when you are looking at an honest profile? Well you can't. Some people are just playing around and there is nothing wrong with that - that's what they want from the site, different experiences, a bit of fun but it wasn't what I wanted. I was prepared to 'kiss a few frogs' before I found my sleeping beauty but care sifting through the replies that came in every day on my e-mail account meant I didn't have to.
One in a Million
The site sent me some matches and one match was amazing, she had worked just as hard as I had on her own profile. The site told me she was a one-in-a-million match to me and so it turned out. We met and wooed and two years later got engaged. We married just two years ago and as you will conclude for this it was the best move I could have made.
Goodbye to the Quiet Life - Hello Adventure
Now every day is a good day, we plan our holidays, work on our business together, on our home and enjoy a fantastic 'extended family life.
When Seniors Meet Seniors and they strike a good bond they bring something to their new relationship that they never had before - experience. Experience of making mistakes and a determination not to make those mistakes again. You might have guessed that I heartily recommend it, if you are a senior considering dating late in life don't delay, somewhere out there is a great relationship for you and all you have to do is reach out for it and live life to the full again.

Do you listen to your partner every time you communicate? Has boredom become a concern in your relationship? Are you wondering how to be a happy couple through the years? I think everyone asks themselves these questions at some point during their relationship. Since I always like to be prepared, I decided to research how to make love last and share with you what I found.
First of all, as a writer, I believe that communication is the seed to growing a strong and healthy relationship and the tool you need to cultivate it. Often times we take communicating with each other for granted. I bet if you asked yourself how you can be a better communicator, and were honest, you would probably say by being a better listener. For one thing, by truly listening to your partner you will discover new things about them so that you'll have something interesting to talk about. Listening is a powerful skill and one that can help you succeed in your professional life as well as your personal one. Many of us seem to focus on being heard and not the other way around, for this reason listening is going to require practice.
Additionally, developing your individual interests can help deter the boredom that sometimes creeps into a relationship. Although having mutual interests are important, couples need time apart to pursue things that make them happy. Too much togetherness can harm a relationship. One of Hollywood's most romantic relationships that withstood the test of time was Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward. Admittedly when asked why their marriage lasted so long, Paul Newman is quoted on the IMDB website as saying "we are very, very different people and yet somehow we feed off those varied differences and instead of separating us, it has made the whole bond a lot stronger."
Unfortunately some couples are threatened by their partner's independence. Therefore I suggest the following advice from an article, written by Kimberly Dawn Neumann titled, "Happy Couples: What's Their Secret?"
Nurture your separate selves
Going off to your book club when your sweetie's out golfing isn't a sign you two are drifting apart. On the contrary, developing individual interests allows for a richer life as a couple. By taking little "couple breaks," you gain a greater appreciation of the gifts your partner brings to your life and you have more to offer as well. "It's very sexy to be independent sometimes," says Magdoff. "You feel better about yourself and you're less demanding of your partner when you're together." After all, taking some personal responsibility for your own well-being relieves the other person of the pressure to "provide" happiness-so go ahead and nurture some solo adventures. That'll also keep each of you stocked with plenty of adventures to chat about, which also builds your bond.
Eventually we realize that relationships are always a work in progress. We start out by creating a bond and then we need to continue to strengthen that bond to make it last. So how does a couple work together towards strengthening an already amazing relationship? I recommend the following 5 tips from an article titled, "5 Habits of Successful Couples" How to love and cherish each other through the years by: Dr. Pepper Schwartz.
  1. They keep up with the changes.
  2. They know how to fight fairly.
  3. They find new ways to play.
  4. They accept the challenges of aging.
  5. They stay physically connected.
Finally, I'm a firm believer in focusing on the positive. So rather than learning what not to do to maintain a successful relationship, check out the article link below and learn what to do to keep yours happy. Better yet, have your partner read it to you and just listen.

Dating online was always considered as dating method for the young. But nowadays lots of older people are looking for love and relationships online. So dating over 40 is quite popular online. First of all, do not believe all information you see in people dating profiles. Photos could be outdated, and information entered misleading. Don't be surprised by that. It's all done to get more attention. Also be careful and do not disclose your personal information (like zip code, address and phone number) to people you just met. They could be scammers. And what's not really pleasant - be prepared to the fact that people are looking for partners younger than themselves. That's applies really well for online dating.
That is most basic advice for online dating. If you feel that you need more advice on dating over 40, check out some professional dating guides, they can really help.
What if you just can't find your beloved one?
I know how hard it can be to find a partner, once you are over 40. But if you really want to find your match, you'll need to learn a single method that works amazingly well.

What do single seniors do to find love? There is no easy answer to this question. The world can be a very lonely and depressing place if you don't have any friends or family near you, never mind finding a companion to share your journey with.
Do you long to find that special someone? Do you yearn to find a soul mate that will love you and take care of you? Life's precious moments are so much sweeter when they are shared. As seniors, we tend to block out the world and live a sheltered existence because the thought of going somewhere or doing something alone is too depressing. There is a lot of life yet to be lived and we should be enjoying every precious moment.
You might think that it is not worth the effort and that all the well-educated, successful and vibrant people are taken. Maybe you have tried dating and you have been let down so many times that now you have become despondent.
You should not give up hope. You are not the only one in this position. There are literally hundreds of thousands of people in the same predicament. If there was a way to meet someone, that you knew shared your interests, your goals and your passion, wouldn't you want to try it out?
The first step is deciding to do things differently. Don't keep yourself locked up in your room feeling sorry for yourself. Make a decision to find that special someone to add that spark to your existence.
The second step will simplify your search and have you meeting people that share your dreams and interests within no time. Luckily now you don't even have to leave the comfort of your own home in order to find a date with someone who is of similar age as yourself, and even shares the same interests.
There are not as many internet senior dating sites as regular online dating sites, but that doesn't mean that the ones out there are not as good quality. If you can find a reputable senior dating site then you'll have just as much chance as finding your soul mate. So you have to know the best site to join in order to maximize your success.
Hundreds of thousands of people have been able to form long lasting relationships which most likely leads them to getting married again because of the senior dating sites which are available online now.

The entire dating process is often perceived as being incredibly complicated and stressful for anyone that is in it today. There are an incredible number of senior singles today attempting to find someone special to help keep their lives fulfilled and life complete. People in this age bracket and facing this complicated process can use some tips for seniors dating online to ensure successful mate searching.
A senior citizen faces certain challenges and complications when attempting to find someone special. One the biggest challenges is where to find people of this age group, who are single and looking. Bars and clubs are not exactly made with older singles in mind: hanging out with kids your grandchildren's age is not a very good idea. However, not all is lost and senior singles now have somewhere to go find a date.
That countless people in this age bracket are looking for someone special is evident in the growth of specialized sites for seniors dating online. Divorce is ever on the rise, and career considerations often lead to delayed marriage. Add to that the increase in life expectancy, as well as baby boomers reaching retirement age unprecedented numbers and you can see why there is an ever-increasing number of senior singles. This age bracket of singles is becoming incredibly huge. The problem is not finding potential partners; it is where to find them.
Now, thanks to one of the greatest innovations of humankind, the Internet, people can find companions from near or far, faster than ever. And it can be done from the comfort of your own home. This is the Internet dating age.
When it comes to seniors dating online, most soon find that the process of finding someone special is truly only as good as the site used. Fortunately, finding a good site is quite easy if you know what to look for.
Sites for senior dating should offer a very simple but advanced means of profile creation. Though new sites can also be good - even the oldest was new once - it is safer to go with an older site. The chosen site should be easy to use and navigate through. Reading dating site reviews will give you an idea of what to expect. Of course, if your interest is finding singles of your own age group, you should sign up with a site specializing in senior personals. Cougars and sugar daddies, there are dating sites for you too.
Creating the personal profile, also called the personal ad, is one of the most important aspects of this process in that this is what people first see when browsing a personals site. This means doing your best to put a great face forward. Seniors dating online often are hesitant to put up a picture, because they may not look like they once did. But not posting a picture could actually cause you to not find that special someone, or conversely, that special someone to not find you. Post a good picture, showing you like you look today. Someone out there wants you the way you are.
Cost is always a major consideration found within this process. While you should not spend what you cannot afford, avoid free sites to avoid wasting too much time weeding through fake profiles. Also, free sites do not offer much in terms of customer support.

People of any age can feel very intense romantic love. People over age 45 express every bit as much romantic passion as those under age 25. You can certainly fall in love at any age, even in your 90s. Senior dating is often like junior dating-full of excitement and euphoria when it goes well, and despair when things fail.
With the baby boomers entering the senior dating scene, marketers have worked hard to make them feel welcome. It seems only logical that seniors would accept the implicit invitation. Eventually, everyone ends up confronting a dating service site, and wondering, "What if..."

Perhaps the most interesting thing about senior dating is that now, people are living long enough to do it. Unconfirmed reports have claimed that seniors are becoming healthier overall as a direct result of looking for love in later in life. And many senior citizens are far more active than previous generations, and are taking to the Internet to find a companion or a love partner.
With half of all people over fifty single, it makes sense that dating sites for those in their latter years are cropping up across the world. It is especially popular in Canada, where 42% of the entire population is dating online, senior dating there has become a very acceptable and normal fact. A quick search on Google for "Senior Life" reveals what most seniors are confronted with daily: information about their declining health and life expectancy rates, it makes sense that they'd search elsewhere for something new to think about. Online dating provides the perfect distraction!
They used to use more traditional venues of cruise ships, bowling clubs and churches looking for other senior cuties. The ease of Internet correspondence has saved them time and cash, and even frequent traveler miles. This can be especially advantageous for those who don't have access to transportation, and furthermore, it's not necessary to wander the streets or the clubs to find a partner. And many don't feel comfortable hitting the senior citizen singles bars.
Seniors are entering the dating world in droves to find companionship and just to have someone to regularly communicate with. A known senior organization reports that two-thirds of their respondents are dating online (between the ages of 50-64). They have reported that on average, singles are spending a whopping $550 million per year on dating services.
Older people are far more computer literate than you think. As with younger people, seniors are clicking anything online to stay entertained. With each passing year, more and more members of the computer age enter retirement, making the elderly an increasingly technological bunch. Senior citizens today were in their 40's when the PC gained popularity. In fact, both Bill Gates and Steve Jobs are just a mere nine years from qualifying for Social Security. Thanks to touch-screen technology and smaller hardware, new computers are surprisingly simple to use, even for those who never owned one while they were of working age.
And lastly, some advantages of senior dating are....Seniors become wiser and know themselves more with time. They know what they need in a mate more as they age and therefore choose better. And they have more time to enjoy themselves and share things.

As a Relationship Coach to Women over forty, I have the opportunity to give a listening ear to many who have either been dating for a while or are just getting back into the dating adventure. A lot of the women I hear from are frustrated because they feel the man in their life does not give them enough time or attention. Is this you?
As a Guy Spy into the male Mind, allow me to reveal a common mistake I see women make. They do not understand that a man's identity is based on what he does. Women tend to define themselves based on who they are to other people. For example a woman may call herself a wife, mother or sister. The male in her life calls himself a doctor, lawyer or banker. Understanding this key element will save you gals a lot of grief! Men don't think, feel or behave like women, so accepting this is really the first step to obtaining peace of mind for you.
If you are feeling like he is not spending enough time with you and you continue to complain to him, he will perceive this as an attack against who he is. He will feel like you are trying to change him and make him like you or worse yet like one of your girlfriends! Men are driven by success. Complaining or nagging is extremely unattractive and tends to remind men of their mothers. On the other hand, if you encourage him in those areas where he excels he will strive harder to please you because making you happy makes him happy!
When he does give you the attention you are craving, show him how delighted you are! Tell him how it makes you feel. Praise him and he will rise to meet the bar and go beyond it! Men by nature are competitive, so if he got an "A+" last time he wants an A+++ next time! Show him how you appreciate him by surprising him with a foot massage or unsolicited back rub! Pleasant words and touch go a long way in a man's world!
The best way to approach any relationship is to go in with the mind set of how I can make this a win-win situation. It may take some getting used to at first especially if your background or upbringing has been a negative one. I do assure you though, using this strategy will be well worth it in the long run!

According to a recent report, over thirty percent of people who have access to the internet have engaged in online dating. Most interestingly, the biggest source of new members for dating sites is among those forty and over. Unfortunately, middle aged members are also the primary target for cyber criminals. So what makes this segment of the internet dating pool so attractive to internet hustlers?
Well, first of all, middle aged users are relatively inexperienced when it comes to technology and online dating. Unlike those of the younger generation, they have not grown up on technology and are in many cases are unfamiliar with hacking and techniques criminals use to extract information from people through the internet. Since they are not on their "guard", thieves like to focus on them since there is a higher success rate with middle aged members.
Second, that those forty and over and extremely vulnerable is that they grew up reading newspapers and not websites. Newspapers are edited and fact checked and in most cases, people can rely on the information they read in major newspapers. So when older users visit a dating site, there is an assumption that the information posted within profiles is accurate. However, as most of us know, some of the most creative writing is done on internet dating websites. The unemployed male living at his family's home can suddenly become the high powered attorney with a house on the beach, all because there is nobody to check or verify the information posted to the site.
Another reason why middle aged users of dating sites are the primary target of internet hustlers is because they are more established financially and have much more money available than younger users who may be struggling with paying for student loans, rent or finding a career. As with any industry, people go where the money is and those over forty have had been employed for much longer and have likely benefited from career growth and promotions.

What's different in your dating landscape at 40 from 20 years ago? Everything. But many women still follow the "good old strategy" according to which all they need to do is to look good, play the dating game, and meet as many new people as possible. Sooner or later they'll find a partner good enough to settle for. Common sense, right? Wrong.
Back then, in your 20s, you were exploring. You didn't know what to expect; you didn't know what you needed (or what you thought you needed wasn't it at all, as you later discovered). Your main dating strategy was trial and error, and your deepest desire was that all men fall in love with you at first sight.
Over the years, failed relationships left their marks on your mindset. You may have gotten hurt; you may have become disappointed; you may have lost faith that you will ever find "the one" and settled with a notion that you are "destined to be alone."
Today, you likely are in one of two camps:
Camp 1
You became comfortable, convinced yourself that you are "not the marrying kind", that you are "self-sufficient and don't need anybody." In an attempt to protect you from pain your mind created various false beliefs and excuses, such as "all the good ones are taken", "I don't want to give up my freedom", "I don't have time for a relationship right now", "I don't see anyone who would match my standards", and so on.
Camp 2
You are actively dating trying to find "the one", but every time something goes wrong. You seem to be attracting the same man in a different body over and over again. You give a lot and get very little in return. Every time you get hurt, your suspicion that "it will never work" becomes stronger. You are secretly thinking about giving up and joining Camp 1.
The reality is: finding your ideal partner takes strategy. There are things you need to do, certain hurdles you need to go through in order to create love in your life (given that you weren't successful at that before).
You know it took strategy and persistence to build a career or a business. Why do you assume that a great relationship will just happen by itself? The strategy to attract your ideal relationship is not a cat-and-mouse "dating game" that everyone says you should play. "Socializing more" is not a strategy either.
In order to change your old relationship patterns you need to make a change deep within yourself, to shift your core beliefs and align yourself mentally, emotionally and spiritually with the reality of having an entirely different person in your life - different from the kind you were attracting in the past. You should also prepare yourself for being with that person.
You now have something extremely valuable, something you did not have in your 20s: experiential understanding of yourself, your needs, and, most importantly, of the fact that you create your own reality.
There is something within you that attracts your negative relationship experiences. It may be fear of intimacy created by past traumas; or lack of self-worth that is tracing its roots to your childhood; there are various inner issues that could be standing in your way.
One thing is certain: unless you become aware of these blocks and consciously dissolve them, you will be stuck in a vicious circle of negative relationship patterns, no matter how many pounds you lose or how many new people you meet.
You now have the level of awareness that makes this transformation possible. The biggest mistake you can make in your pursuit of an ideal relationship is to ignore the need for transformation and to rely on pure luck.
The good news is that you don't need to give up who you are in order to find a soulmate. On the contrary, letting go of your limiting past conditioning will help you bring out your authentic self and attract a partner who is uniquely right and perfect for you.
Soulmate love is your birthright. Take your life experience and willingness to change, and with some guidance you will be able to create the amazing love life that you have always dreamed of.

A friend of mine who is currently in his late 80s recently moved to a retirement residence from the home he had occupied with his late wife for close to 50 years. Prior to the move John wasn't very well. He spent a lot of time in bed and had difficulty getting around, despite the fact that he had a car as well as a current driver's license. John's daughters convinced him that a move to a retirement residence would be good for him in that his frailties would not be an overwhelming liability because there were always people around to look after him.
After the move I did not see John for nearly five months, as he lives in a town that's a two-hour car trip away. When I finally did visit him we went out for lunch and I noted how well John looked. He had put on a little weight and he wasn't nearly as dependent on his cane as he had been a previous visit. Before I had the opportunity to ask him, John told me how well he was doing; how he liked living in the retirement residence because there was always someone to talk to and meals were prepared on a regular schedule and there was lots to do.
But the best part for John was the ratio of women to men. "There are at least ten women to every man where I live," John explained. "And I've met someone special." He then went on to tell about his amorous adventures. It seems the lady in question, a widow, lived in a suite down the hall from him. He had known her family in his younger years, as they attended the same church. But he'd never gotten to know her personally. When he saw her in the dining room he thought she looked familiar, but he couldn't be sure.
So one day he just walked up to her during the lunch hour and introduced himself. The lady was more than receptive, admitting that she had wondered if he would ever notice her. They discovered that they had a lot in common and really enjoyed spending time together.
"She even set me straight on how Europeans kiss each other on the cheek when they meet. I always thought they just kiss each other on one side of the cheek and that's that," John said. "Imagine my surprise when I found out they really do it three times back and forth; first the left cheek, then the right and then the left again. I like that much better!"
Needless to say, John is very pleased that he allowed his daughters to convince him to move to a retirement residence. "If I hadn't made the move, I'd still be miserable and alone," John muses. "And I would never have met Melanie."
John spends his days now playing Scrabble with friends and his evening sitting with Melanie in the fireside lounge reading. Somehow moving to that residence has given John a whole new purpose in life.

I am now "officially" considered a senior. A "young" senior to be sure, but certainly closer to seniordom than youth. Like you, I feel no older than 35 most days. Sometimes I feel much, much older.
So, now that you are a senior dating takes on a special appeal. So let's look at a few ways that dating is better now than ever before!

1) FREEDOM- Finally! No children, no job, and no restrictions on what you want to do and when you want to do it. Time to use to do those things you never got a chance to do when you were younger. While you may not have all the energy you had in your 20's, you can still have adventures and be of service to your family, church and community.
2) Knowledge- Which brings us to #2. You possess a wealth of knowledge. Your knowledge encompasses a variety of interests, talents and topics. When you can combine the best use of both work and personal skills, you will find out that you still have much to offer and much that is needed.
3) Wisdom-The wise use of your talents and appreciation of both yourself and others. My grandpa used to tell us that you don't get old being stupid. Wisdom is to know this for fact, but not have to flaunt all you know to make yourself look good.
4) Self Confidence- Self confidence is sexy! Yes, you are still all of that. What is different now is that instead of getting someone's attention in the first 20 seconds, it may take a minute or two. But we don't want that shallow person anyway, do we?
5) Humor- By now, you should have cultivated and grown your sense of humor. Getting older is FUNNY! If you cannot laugh at yourself, you won't be good company for anyone! Laughter is important and the older you get, the more you can appreciate a good laugh!
6) Health- While you health may not be perfect, if you are still standing, breathing and striving to enjoy your life, your health plays an important part in how you feel and look. Strive to be healthy, to eat better foods, and get enough rest and water. Avoid all that unnecessary sugar and your body will remain your friend.
7) Self Awareness- Self Knowledge: Knowing your own self is one of the most important character traits you can have. By choosing to learn more about you, what makes you happy or sad, you can embrace yourself fully. This self-knowledge allows you to make wiser choices in a mate. You no longer need to appease or impress others. You know what you want and are willing to wait for that right person to show up in your life.
8) Gratitude- You appreciate yourself, your family, your community and your God. Your actions show your appreciation. Gratitude is a gift your give both yourself and others. Thank you!
9) Conversation- Just talking and being able to HOLD a conversation is a crucial relationship skill. It is both learned and innate, but as you age, you become less self conscious, opening the way to free flowing conversations. Being able to both talk and listen adds a depth to relationships that is priceless.
10) Satisfaction! Finally you are able to just be whether alone or in a relationship. You no longer need another to make you feel complete. You KNOW you are complete within yourself. Your established relationship with yourself shows the path to being satisfied in the here and now.
These are a few of the musings I have had thinking about what wonderful gifts and character "senior" daters bring to a relationship. Connecting with another senior or being bold and going younger it's all about what YOU feel comfortable with.
Since so many of us "feel" younger in our minds, a happy medium would be to date both younger, older and the same age. Find your own groove and establish your OWN rules.
Life is a song- Are you singing yet?

All people have some desire for love and even romance, if they can find it, because we want to have a life that is filled with the relationship experiences we crave, but as we get older it might come to feel as if this will be a struggle.
The fact is, nothing could be further from the truth because all throughout our lives there are chances we get through choices we make that can help us meet great people who we might just end up falling in love with. A lot of women end up finding out that once they have taken a look at senior dating tips for the current times, they are able to actually find a relationship that ends up working out for them.
Many women make the mistake of thinking that they are not eligible to date and find a new relationship, but this kind of thinking is only destructive and can not possibly lead you to the happiness that you are seeking. Another common mistake for women who are in their later years is thinking that all of the good men are taken, something that even teens in high school think when it is equally silly then, too.
Everyone wants to be able to have a great life where they are spending their time with someone they care deeply for and this is not something beyond the reach of those of us who get great help. Friends are great to have, but they may not always have the best advice so finding quality senior dating tips for women can get you a lot further towards your goals.
What will make the difference for you is making sure that you have solid counsel from a pro who really does understand the modern dating scene for people in your age range. Taking the time to get help like this is what can really end up being a smart idea.
If you really do use the hi tech tools like the web you will find great results easier to achieve. Taking action and making changes really will change your life for the better in a lot of very important ways.
Take the time to check out the senior dating tips after divorce and you will see that you can get over anything and find your bliss in life. Once you have found that special someone who fits your heart, life will be brighter.

How old is too old to have a boyfriend? I am talking about a 60 year-old woman who walks around and tells everyone about her 70 year-old "boyfriend." Doesn't she really have a man-friend?
After high school, isn't it time for women to stop calling their significant others "boyfriends?" I'm sorry, but a 43 year-old man is not your "boyfriend." He is your man-friend. He is your lover. He may be the man you're wildly humping every night of the week. For some of you, he might be your meal ticket. For some of you he might be your booty call. Your "boy," however, he is not.
Women complain all the time about how they don't want to date boys... but then they objectify us by calling us "boyfriends." How are we supposed to act? If you want to get us off the Wii, then you have to treat us like men (instead of boys).
Now the men are not going to escape this wrath. So here's another thing. Men should not be calling their woman-friend, lover and main squeeze their "girlfriend." Unless you're Chester the Child Molester, you do not have a "girlfriend." You have a woman-friend.
Here's another contradiction. Women get so pissed when you call them "girls" and when men treat them like girls. When a guy introduces them to his friends as his "girlfriend," though, they get all gushy. Make up your mind!
That is why labels are so stupid. There are times when every woman is still a little girl and every man is still a little boy... no matter what age they are. So really, the next time you want to throw a label on something, think about it first. If you want to be my "girlfriend," then don't yell at me if I treat you like a girl and not like a woman.
If you are dating me, I want to be called your lover and your man. I do not want to be your "boyfriend," because when I picture a boy all I see is a little kid nibbling on Skittles candy... not on your hard, erect nipples.
Now if you really want me to be your "boyfriend," then we might as well eat a lot of sugar, get some teenage acne, make out, dry hump all over each other, get blue balls, then painfully go home and jerk off. I remember the first time my high school girlfriend gave me blue balls. I laid down for fourteen hours with everything hurting from breathing to peeing.
So really, let's call each other what we actually are. Also, for you ladies, if you are still dating boys then you'll get that "boyfriend" you always say you want.
Women tell me over and over again in the blog that they want to know where all the men are, yet they continue to talk about wanting a "boyfriend." Be careful what you wish for... because if you say you want a "boyfriend," you are going to get that immature man-boy over and over again.
